Ordering & Pick Up
How do I order?
A new flavor, along with our regular flavors, will be available each month. We’ll announce details on Instagram and via email. Make sure to follow us @mybaobaobuns and subscribe to our newsletter to never miss a drop.
Ordering opens on Mondays. A limited number of orders will be available and may sell out quickly, so be sure to act fast.
Once you place your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please have this number ready during pick up. If you don't see a confirmation email from us, please check your junk folder.

What happens if I miss my order pick-up?
Life happens. If you miss your pick-up, please send us an email at hello@baobaobuns.com, and we'll schedule a new pick-up time. If you fail to contact us before the next pick-up and/or do not pick up during the next window, your order will be forfeited without refund. You must contact us before arriving at the following pick-up window to ensure we have your order ready. You can also have someone else pick up your order.
If no orders are scheduled for pick-up on a particular day, we will not be staffing that pick-up time.
Due to the small size of our company and limited freezer storage, we’re unable to accommodate pick-ups two weeks past your original window. We appreciate your understanding!

Have no fear! If you didn't receive your order confirmation email, please check your spam folder. If you don't see your confirmation email there, you can send us an email at hello@baobaobuns.com.
Will pick-up still happen if there's bad weather?
If there's ever a time you don't feel comfortable picking up due to bad weather, please send us an email and we'll reschedule your pick-up.
We may cancel pick-up in case of extreme weather. If this happens, we'll reach out to reschedule.
Do you ship?
We currently don’t ship baos, but we do ship chili oil!
Baos
What is a bao?
Baos, while similar to dumplings, are not dumplings. Baos consist of a steamed, fluffy dough with a savory or sweet filling on the inside. They can be steamed or pan fried for a little extra crunch on the bottom. Baos are best served with a dipping sauce. Our favorite is our homemade chili oil.
Why choose your baos?
We believe that fluffy dough is the perfect vehicle to deliver the food we love from our kitchen to your dinner table. In addition to traditional baos, you will find seasonal favorites and flavors from all around the world.
How do I cook my baos?
Our baos are fully cooked before freezing so you only have to worry about reheating them! Please visit our heating guide for more instructions.
How many baos come in an order?
Each order comes with six baos and dipping sauce.
How many people will each order feed?
Depending on the person, we’ve found that 2-3 baos is the perfect amount for a meal. Therefore, each order should feed 2-3 people or feed one person for 2-3 meals.
Do you use preservatives?
We don't use preservatives. Our baos are made fresh weekly.
How long will the baos keep?
To ensure the best taste, baos will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months from the date of purchase. However, we don’t think they’ll last that long. Keep frozen until you're ready to enjoy. Chili oil can be stored in the fridge for up to three weeks.
Do you repeat flavors?
We will repeat fan favorites but like to keep things fresh with a new flavor each month.
Can I find your baos at the store?
Yes! Check out our store locator to find baos and chili oil near you.
Where is your kitchen?
We operate out of Eat for Equity, a commissary kitchen located in Minneapolis.
2940 Harriet Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408
Ingredients & Allergens
What ingredients do you use?
We use fresh ingredients to make our baos. When possible, we prefer to support local farmers and businesses. Drops are made weekly to ensure freshness.
Please take a look at each product page to review a detailed list of ingredients for each bao.
Are the fillings pre-cooked or raw?
Our baos are fully cooked before freezing so you only have to worry about reheating and eating.
I am vegan/vegetarian, which baos can I eat?
Boho Chic is a vegan eggplant and mushroom bao which will be available each week. We will also offer specialty vegan flavors with our drops.
I am gluten free, which baos can I eat?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the bao dough, we are unable to offer gluten free baos.
I have a peanut/nut allergy. Which baos can I eat?
All of our traditional flavors are peanut and nut free. Limited drops may include peanuts or nuts. Please review each product page for a detailed list of ingredients.
We operate in a shared kitchen, so cross contamination with peanuts and nuts may happen.
